Matt Concordia is a young electronic dance music producer based in Canada.
He is currently studying business management at Dalhousie University, but that doesn’t stop him from also producing some super chill EDM.
Concordia has received support from many top EDM News blogs like TrapStyle, and aims to be recognized on many more.
His new song “This Is Love” is out now and we think you will really enjoy it, check it out.
Concordia – “This Is Love”
“This Is Love” starts out with a chill melodic synth melody and then builds with a groovy beat and drums. Soothing vocals begin to flow over you with the beat and upbeat melody playing in the background. Overall this is a feel good song and has great energy and flow to it.
EDM RANKS had a chat with Concordia about how he produced “This Is Love”, how he started to produce electronic dance music, and more, check it out below.
Tell us about “This Is Love”. How did you come up with this idea for this song?
I started “This is Love” after finding the guitar sample on Splice, which I absolutely loved! From there, I really wanted to make a percussion-heavy song, so I spent majority of my time programming the drums, recording myself hitting wooden spoons, and generally just trying new things.
What Inspired you to make this?
Multiple things inspired me to write this track, but the main source of inspiration came from my girlfriend with which I have been with for 3 years. She’s my best pal and always gives me the motivation to make music.
How did you begin producing electronic dance music?
I started producing music like 3 years ago because my brother started getting into production. If it weren’t for him, I would not have started producing, or at least not until way later in life.
Do you have a favorite VST plugin or instrument to use?
Well, I use Fl studio and my main computer crashed leaving me only with my Macbook to produce on (Fl users will understand that this sucks because Fl is a PC-based DAW). Because of this, I can’t download any third party plugins, so I only have been using FL native plugins for the past while. My favorite by a landslide is harmless/harmor– those are some pretty awesome and powerful plugins.
What can we expect from you next year?
This year, my goal is to release a song every month or so, although I won’t jeopardize quality to attain this goal. I truly believe that people will really like the music I make as it has a lot of different influences from different genres. Just need to keep making my mixes sound better and hopefully I can do this full-time!
