Global Party Starters – Tonight Ft. Elise Estrada
Struggling to combine their love for hip-hop vocals with house beats, Global Party Starters will be bringing these worlds together with their signature House vs Hip-Hop Mixes.
“Tonight” features a slightly more pop side of electronic dance music, and a nice catchy hook from Elise Estrada.
The song is about how a guy can go out to the club, pick up a woman and he is praised. DJ A slam hated this, and “So that’s why I wanted to make this song. And that’s why the video is really based around Kamantha and that story and not about us as DJs or about the party. It’s just about one women deciding tonight she just wants to pick up one guy and that’s it.”
I got to talk with the Global party Starters about their song “Tonight”, future plans and more, check it out below.
Watch out for more original edm tunes coming this year as well from the Global part Starters, but for now you can rest on “Tonight” ft. Elise Estrada.
Global Party Starters – Interview
Tell us about ‘Tonight’. How did you come up with this idea for this song?
The idea for “Tonight” really came from the stigma in the nightclub culture when it comes to women. If a guy decides he’s gonna go out and just wants to pick up a girl for one night, and have a great night with her and that’s it, there’s culturally nothing wrong with that. But if a woman decides she wants go out pick up a guy, and have one amazing night with him, all of sudden she’s considered a slut. And I hate that. So that’s why I wanted to make this song. And that’s why the video is really based around Kamantha and that story and not about us as DJs or about the party. It’s just about one women deciding tonight she just wants to pick up one guy and thats it.
What Inspired you to make this?
Musically, we were really inspired by Major Lazer and their way of combining urban and edm elements.
How did you begin producing electronic dance music?
I know this is going to sound cliche, but it really happened in India. I love urban and hip-hop music. And always loved some of the Electronic Remixes that would dabble in both genres. Our group is based in Canada, but for a few months I was out in Mumbai working on events and DJing. I ended up attending the Sun Burn festival and it completely blew me away. From then forward I’ve been fusing harder beats and Electronic elements into our productions.
Do you have a favorite VST plugin or instrument to use?
Ok so I hope people are reading this, cause I’m going to drop a big secret in this answer. In all the biggest studios I’ve been to in Vancouver and most recently in a Chainsmokers session I saw this plugin. It’s used in all genres, and in all the Global Party Starters tracks. And that’s the CLA-Vocals. It’s a beautiful multifaceted vocal bus all in one plugin. And i’ll give you a way to get this plugin very cheap. Almost all my plugins I have bought on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. So the entire CLA bundle and other waves plug-ins make sure you grab them on that day.
What can we expect from you next year?
Right now on YouTube you can find our single Tonight, and our second single Bout Us. Every month we post a remix as well. So make sure you subscribe to our YouTube Channel.
Our next video that will be released and you’ll actually get it just before the year ends, is called “Gone”. It’s based on the story of my mom leaving my dad, so definitely watch out for that!
