Naian Interview [EXCLUSIVE]

Naian is an upcoming Slovenian Trance producer.

His first releases like ‘Eta Piscium’ and ‘Zero Motion’ were greatly accepted and supported by EDM heavyweights like Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten and Paul Oakenfold to name a few. Eta Piscium was a major success, Played on Armin Van Buurens ASOT internet radio podcast and also Markus Schulz’s Global DJ Broadcast internet radio.

Naian was introduced to electronic music when he was 14 years old and instantly fell in love with the diversity it offers. After few years being a fan of different genres and exploring the surface and depth of electronic music he discovered listening wasn’t enough. Curiosity led him into producing his first sounds back in 2008.

From the very beginning it was clear he likes melodies, so eventually trance and progressive became the genres that satisfied his taste. Over the years his knowledge of production as well as love for it became stronger. He decided it’s time to offer his music to a broader audience.

Naian Interview

Naian trance producer

We sat down with Naian to interview him on a few things about his music, What its like being supported by the top DJs of the world, how he started producing, and his most favorite place to DJ.

Armin Van Buuren’s internet podcast ASOT has played your tracks and shown you big support along with Markus Schulz’s Global DJ Broadcast and Paul Oakenfold, How does that feel and what do you have planned next?

It feels amazing to see and hear the biggest names in the scene support and play my tracks. Hmm plans, First there’s a remix coming on Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto Black Rec in April. Then a few releases lined up on couple of other labels that i haven’t gotten the exact release date yet. I’ll also appear on a compilation. Also planning a new look and web presence this year. I’m working on different stuff right now…from big room to more relaxed melodic tracks and planning to do a track with samples i’ll record myself, out of everyday objects and my voice. We’ll see how that turns out.

How did you begin producing?

It all began back in 2008. I was just curious, and the idea of making my own music looked pretty interesting to me, since i loved listening to it so much. A friend and I started producing at the same time and it was hard figuring out all the stuff, especially because we started with Reason (which for me is a hard program for beginners and i almost stopped and gave up). After a couple of years i switched to Ableton and started saving up for some basic equipment for production. Its funny how i was able to make anything on some crappy in-ear headphones. About 2 years back i changed styles and started producing trance and also got more serious about producing.

Which artists were your Biggest influence growing up?

Probably the most influential were Armada artists over the years and before that i was listening to guys like Benny Benassi and ATB, also techno/hardtechno stuff.

Where would be you favorite place to dj in the world?

My favorite place would probably be on a private beach or on a cruise or any non standard/odd place, But i’d probably enjoy playing anywhere.

His newest release, Which is more big room trance style is T-Rex.

also another well accepted song, Zero motion is a more melodic track, Supported by Ferry Corsten and Kyau & Albert.
