Slim Yung Man Interview
Tell us about ‘ZAP’. How did you come up with this idea for this song?
Zap was a song I made while I was just going through a house phase. I usually have phases to what I produce and this particular week it was House music. I heard the loop and just thought it was perfect for what I was looking for. something minimal and lo-fi but still electric
What Inspired you to make this?
The name idea happened after I completed the track I just thought the Fx and the synths had a thunderstorm vibe to them so I called it Zap!
How did you begin producing electronic dance music?
I began producing electronic music about a year ago I made my first house EP called Spectrum (https://soundcloud.com/slimyungman/spectrum-album-full-stream) and then after that I started studying various electronic artist and developed my style
Do you have a favorite VST plugin or instrument to use?
My favorite VST to use is probably Massive. I like the vast amount of sounds I have and I can always find something new or make something new. I also like Serum Because it is a little easier to make your own synths
What can we expect from you next year?
This year I have an album coming out in July. It’s less dance and more ambient and minimal lo-fi. Other than that you can expect more house music and projects working with other people .
