Melbourne is an America electronic music producer and has just released his amazing euphoric trance song ‘Arctic Moon’.
Melbourne says he wants his fans to “not just hear the music, but to be able to close their eyes and feel it.”
This is definitely true with ‘Arctic Moon’, click play and listen to some of the best trance in our edm charts.
‘Arctic Moon’ was inspired by a lake house Melbourne was staying at, “On clear nights, the temperature would plummet, but the moon was always huge and beautiful over the lake, so I wanted to implement that same kind of spacey, cold, but uplifting feeling into a track.”
EDM RANKS discussed “Arctic Moon’ with Melbourne Music, along with how he produced “Arctic Moon’, future music plans and how he started producing music, check it out below.
Melbourne Music Interview
Tell us about ‘Arctic Moon’. How did you come up with this idea for this song?
I like to express my emotions through melodies, and Arctic Moon is a reflection of that. Sometimes you hear a track, and you’re like “Wow”, you can feel the emotion in the music, the way the music almost puts you in a different place. I want people to be able to not just hear the music, but to be able to close their eyes and feel it.
What inspired you to make this?
I get a lot of inspiration from the places I travel and the things I see. The inspiration for this track was from a lake house I was staying at while in Windham, Maine. It was supposedly spring time, but very cold, and sometimes very rainy, although very beautiful! On clear nights, the temperature would plummet, but the moon was always huge and beautiful over the lake, so I wanted to implement that same kind of spacey, cold, but uplifting feeling into a track.
How did you begin producing electronic dance music?
I fell in love with orchestral music originally, and as I expanded my taste in music, I fell in love with trance and since, have never really looked back. Trance and orchestral have quite a bit in common, so it was an easy genre for me to get into and enjoy the music, before it was even popular. I was first interested in, and started working on the production of electronic music (primarily only trance) which at first, really just started as an on and off kinda hobby in the earlier 2000’s (since about 2004). You could actually call me a “tranceaholic” at heart, it is all I really listen to, and has been for many years. Many producers and artists enjoy wide varieties of other genres outside of their productions, but I’ve never really steered far from trance. I guess you could say I’m addicted to the sounds, for me, nothing speaks more emotions musically than trance music.
Do you have a favorite VST plugin or instrument to use?
As far as synths go, i’m a big fan of the Spire synth. You can get such a wide variety of some truly huge and awesome sounds from this thing. I’m also a big fan of the FabFilter lineup of plugins, particularly the Pro-Q 2, it’s definitely a favorite!
What can we expect from you next year?
I’m very excited for the upcoming new year! I have two upcoming tracks that I’m very excited about that have been signed and will be released on State Control Records. State Control has had some really great releases this year with a lot of big name support so that is very exciting to be a part of! I have some new music in the works that I hope to have finished up soon, and I’m very excited about that as well. It is definitely going to be a busy year for me!
