If you were listening to dance music in the 90’s chances are you have heard “Its a fine day”.

“Its a fine day” was originally produced by English poet and musician Edward Barton, Barton originally recorded the a cappella single in 1983 on Cherry Red using the vocals of his girlfriend, Jane Lancaster.

“Its a fine day” would later to become a UK chart hit when Opus III covered it in 1992, reaching number 5, while also topping the US dance chart. Under the name Owain Anthony Barton.

15 years later it was remixed by ATB, in 1998.

The ATB remix of “Its a fine day” exploded Instantly becoming another hit in the early dance scene with ravers.
