Since 2014 UK-based DJ/producer Subaholic’s has been bringing his massive bass sound to clubs from London to Cyprus.
If you like Diplo, Flume, Skrillex, or Flux Pavilion and fat bass you’ll love Subaholics!
His blend of bottom heavy genres such as Drum & Bass, Bass House, Future Bass, and Trap is as energizing as it is downright heavy.
Now Subaholics is ready to show the world his sound, with his new bass house song ‘Would I Lie’ which samples the soulful hook from the 90s hit by R&B duo Charles & Eddie.
Subaholics – “Would I Lie”
The track starts out with the sweet vocal sample that builds up into a savage drop full of—you guessed it—BASS.
Drew from EDM RANKS had a chance to interview Subaholic’s on his new bass house song “Would I lie” and more, check it out below.
Tell us about ‘Would I Lie.’ What was the concept for this track?
The track Would I Lie is a Bass House track that I produced within a week time, mixed and mastered all by myself. The concept was pretty simple and straight forward: crazy bassline mixed with the greatness of old school R&B.
How did you get the idea to use the Charles & Eddie vocal sample?
I was driving towards my studio and I put the radio on as I always do, and the old school classic by “Charles & Eddie” came on out of the blue and Ideas started flowing through my mind immediately. And you know the rest.
How did you first begin producing electronic music?
I first begin producing Electronic music in the true meaning of producing about 2 years ago, I am nowhere near where I want to be but solid steps are being taken day by day and it’s all going great.
What (or who) is your biggest inspiration when creating music?
My biggest inspiration is music itself. I listen to many artists from 60’s till 2017 and I get a lot of different inspirations from every single one of them. I produce a variety of genres of music so it all helps in different ways.
Do you have a favorite DAW, VST plugin, or instrument you like to use?
My favorite DAW is FL Studio as I’ve been using it since I started making music and my favorite VST’s are as follows: NI Massive, NI Kontakt, Xfer OTT, Xfer Serum, Xfer LFO Tool, majority of the FabFilter Plugins, and CamelCrusher
What can we expect from you in the next year?
At the moment I’m working on a Future Bass and a Deep House track. Recording the vocals tonight for the Deep House one and Future Bass one is ready to be mastered tomorrow.
