Mau5trap, the EDM record label founded by Deadmau5 in 2007, is working on a new 2026 release. The 2026 Compilation Is Set to Redefine EDM!

Mau5trap will release the next volume of its We Are Friends compilation series in 2026, the first since 2023 and the first since partnering with Create Music Group in 2025.

Since its debut in 2012, We Are Friends has showcased emerging electronic artists, featuring talents like Rezz, Attlas, Blackgummy, and i_o.

Mau5trap is now accepting submissions for the upcoming compilation; interested artists should submit EDM tracks in ASAP!

We Are Friends Volume 12

We Are Friends Vol. 12 is slated for release in January 2026. According to a label representative, the absence of a 2024 edition stemmed from internal restructuring at mau5trap, the label deadmau5 founded in 2007. Billboard reported in March that Create Music Group acquired both the deadmau5 and mau5trap catalogs in a $55 million deal.

Alongside this, mau5trap is launching the We Are Friends residency, a monthly event at Los Angeles’ Sound nightclub over the summer. The next show, on June 12, will feature BlackGummy, Allizen, and Jozik.

On July 24, mau5trap will host a one-off We Are Friends event at Unlocked Shoreditch in London, with deadmau5 and special guests to be announced.
